Pretty scary!
I have read the back of the formula cans and am amazed at what they sell to feed our little ones! I have a 9 month old that is sensitive to cows milk protein, and am having a horrible time getting good information on feeding. What do we give them when breastmilk is no longer an option, and formula is so toxic?
Disturbing Mystery Food Given To Children

I narrate a short video about a common product found in grocery stores and its shocking ingredients. The ingredients and their origins are things people should know about before feeding this product to children. It has likely been consumed many times in your home without anyone suspecting how terrible its ingredients were. The viewer is encouraged to guess the food which we are creating while we reproduce it in the video. We reveal the identity of the product at the very end.
If you have problems viewing the video, then you may download it in MPEG-4 (a.k.a. Quicktime) format.

Just wanted to point Lori in the direction of La Leche League International on the subject of breastfeeding beyond infancy (which is actually our biological, if not societal, norm):
Health Benefits of Breastfeeding Extend Well Beyond Infancy
http://www.llli.org/Release/benefits.htmlThere is no point where the child is better off being weaned to formula if breastfeeding is working. Biologically, breastfeeding is normal and beneficial (for mom and baby) at least up to the age of 2 with no upper limit, so say all levels of health organizations from paedeatrics associations to the World Health Organization and UNICEF. That is, every mother is encouraged to breastfeed exclusively until 6 months old, then according to the baby's desire and readiness you can introduce all manner of healthy foods in addition to the breastmilk baby receives. "Before the age of one, food is just for fun!" The child will eat when you eat, no need to so much as open a jar! It is way too easy to make wholesome food just as you're eating it yourself. And baby likes it too!

One of my children was reacting badly to dairy foods, and also yeast based products in my diet. So I eliminated all dairy products and breads etc from my own diet. It was for a long time, well over a year, and then he became able to tolerate me having a dash of milk each day. But it fixed the issues he was having, without having to find an alternative, as well as giving him breastmilk for well over two years. He never could tolerate milk even then, but was able to eat a small amount of mature cheese.
So do not despair, breastmilk is an option. I was so glad I could do that for my baby.

Hi there
I would really like to point people in the direction of this video on infant formula as much a to do is made about environmental toxins getting into humans and thus human breast milk but very little is heard of 'toxins or dangerous ingredients in formula' which do of course exist along with contaminants from the manufacturing process.
Does the producer or narrator have any scientific links and references to back up the info given in the film as this would be required before any infant feeding organisations could deem it acceptable.
thanks

You can always re-lactate, the act of nursing your baby will tell your body to start producing milk again!

The FDA? Maybe you need to do some more researching... They wouldn't tell you the truth! Do you not realize how corrupt the FDA is??? They're (and everyone else) is just in this business for the MONEY!

There is almost never a time that breastmilk is not an option. LIke a previous post said you may have to eliminate things from your diet, but that doesn't make it not an option. And, cow's milk isn't good for any of us, so eliminating it from your diet will be good for the both of you
! Take care
, don't let others tell you that you can not give your baby the best

If you can't provide human breast milk check out coconut oil - it is full of medium chain fatty acids, just as human breast milk is and it is used as a healthy alternative for premature babies in American hospitals. I got this information from Bruce Fife's website, The Coconut Research Center.

I agree. I have four children and I've breastfed all of them, (my youngest is 6 months young), for at least one year and that's because I was pregnant by the time they reached a year and couldn't keep up with the changes my body was going through. in the beginning, breastfeeding was difficult for me every time and every time, I thought and even talked with my husband about giving up, but I never did. I prayed and God let me know that giving up will always be an option as long as I allowed it to be. That's when I said that I'd go through with it no matter what because I had to and there was no other way to feed my baby. Now, like every other time, I am SO happy that I breastfed my children. They rarely get sick and when they do, it's like they aren't. Plus breastfeeding is so easy when you get the hang of it and it's affordable too
God bless you. Please learn more about re-lactating. Get support from where ever to help you be strong to keep nursing. Breast is natural. Breast really is best. Jesus loves you and I do too!
