More About Triclosan: How The Chemical Industry Is Secretly Poisoning Us Again

The Washington Post recently reported how the F.D.A. has suddenly found fault in a chemical known as triclosan.  The chemical is found in the urine of more than 75% of Americans, and research has shown for years that it is dangerous.  However, new research has grabbed the attention of the E.P.A., F.D.A. and C.P.S.C..  The chemical is so widely used that it falls under the jurisdiction of all three federal agencies.

Triclosan is an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal chemical.  Astute readers may already be making the connection that anything that is poisonous to organisms, is well: poisonous.  The poison is intentionally added to anti-bacterial soaps, pesticides, toothpastes, cleaning agents, shaving creams, and mouthwash.  In recent years, it has been infused into children's toys, bedding and some clothing.  We are making bets amongst ourselves as to how long it will be before it is a critical component of vaccines, and infant formula too.

"But the FDA, which oversees its use in personal-care products, medical devices and products that come into contact with food, has been working for 38 years to establish the rules for the use of triclosan but has not completed that task."

—  Washington Post

That's right, after 38 years, the Food and Drug Administration has not managed to decide if triclosan is safe.  Meanwhile, people are washing their hands and brushing their teeth with this chemical; with direct absorption into the blood through the mouth.

Current research shows that triclosan is damaging to the endocrine system.  The endocrine system is made up of glands which are responsible for mood regulation, metabolism and growth.  So, we have quite a disease-inflicting cocktail when this is mixed with fluoride.  When these crucial glands begin to fail, diseases emanate.  Failure of the adrenal glands, for instance, can quickly result in the onset of diabetes, or Cushing's syndrome.  Failure of the thyroid gland can result in hypothyroidism and diabetes.  These are epidemics.  Go figure.

The F.D.A. claims to be re-evaluating triclosan, but if they have been willfully blind to all the dangers for the past 38 years, will they suddenly find them now?  The fact that the press has drawn attention to this is probably the only reason the that F.D.A. has shown any lip service.  We would not be surprised if the results of their re-evaluation are quietly released a year from now, showing that triclosan is completely safe.  We are sure the involved companies will pay the F.D.A.'s "research costs" to ensure that their products are found to be safe.  (wink)  That's how it works, folks.  Remember back to yesteryear when lead was "safe"?

Regular readers of The Health Wyze Report have probably avoided most sources of triclosan, since it is in products which healthy people normally avoid.  For instance, commercial toothpastes should have already been avoided, because of the fluoride and sodium lauryl sulfate.  Anti-bacterial soaps are the equivalent of taking an antibiotic several times each day.  Almost all chemicals that are placed on the skin will sink directly through the skin and into the bloodstream.  Not only do we recommend against antibiotics, but it has also been shown that anti-bacterial soaps are no more effective than regular soaps.  The health risks actually increase with their usage.

Prologue

Corporations can normally be sued for endangering their customers, unless they have been given governmental 'approval'.  It is not so easy when the company is using a 'standard' and 'approved' ingredient.  Being approved means being "generally recognized as safe", after all.  Right?   That is what we are expected to believe, and this psychological game works remarkably well against the U.S. population.  Things are like this by design.  The real job of regulators is to ensure that certain ingredients stay on the market ― that companies are protected from us ― not the other way around.  If you wish to be healthy, then you must stay as far away as possible from the chemical industry (and their governmental cronies) to avoid their attempts to "save" us as customers.
