"Liberty is to the collective body, what health is to every individual body.  Without health no pleasure can be tasted by man; without liberty, no happiness can be enjoyed by society."

Antidepressants Produce Plenty of Side-Effects, But Don't Reduce Depression

Prescribing Toxic Sugar Pills

A study recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (J.A.M.A.) revealed that S.S.R.I. (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) antidepressants, in most cases, are no more effective than placebos.  The news is ironic at best, because they routinely ridicule alternative medicine techniques by claiming that their effectiveness has not been scientifically proven by official (F.D.A. accepted) studies.

The S.S.R.I. category of pharmaceuticals has been the most commonly used in the United States for over a decade, while yet there is little evidence demonstrating their efficacy.  There is, however, overwhelming evidence of their horrific side-effects, including suicide ideation, anxiety, and homicidal thoughts.  You did read that correctly: these really are anti-depression drugs which actually cause suicidal tendencies, amongst things even worse.  They also cause severe addictions to them, which the pharmaceutical industry flippantly calls 'discontinuation syndrome'.

By labeling the addictions as a disease possessed by the victims, it is another way for the chemical industry to pass the blame onto its victims, in much the same vein as "bad" genes.  Discontinuation syndrome is their code phrase, which is used to hide the fact that these drugs cause terrible withdrawal symptoms.  The withdraw symptoms are frequently worse than those from illegal narcotics.  It is important to remember that all addictive illegal drugs were originally created by the pharmaceutical industry.  Coincidence?  Take for instance, Bayer's wonder drug for treating drug addiction in yesteryear was heroin, and it is still remembered as their best seller of all time.

Much Deadlier Than Sugar Pills, But Less Effective

Pharmaceuticals are believed by the general public to be judged on a risk verses benefit basis.  The pharmaceutical marketers and their regulatory partners in government have sworn that this really is the case for drugs and their approval process.  So, when the risks of suicide ideation and psychosis are introduced with pharmaceuticals, then it seems unthinkable to the uninitiated that these same medications would not at least provide a benefit above that of a placebo.  Does human life mean anything at all to these people?

S.S.R.I. drugs were only shown to be effective in those with major depressive disorders.  Those who go to a psychiatrist seeking a happy pill due to an episode of mild to moderate depression will not get any relief.  Such patients represent the overwhelming majority of cases for which these drugs are prescribed.  For major depressions, doctors furthermore mix and match dangerous psychogenic medications randomly like a game of Russian roulette, even though these drugs are not supposed to be mixed.  As noted earlier, the effectiveness of these antidepressants is usually non-existent, but the side-effects rarely are.

The Paxil Defense and The S.A.V.E. Project

The 'Paxil Defense' has now been established in court, and has resulted in multiple people being acquitted of criminal charges, or given reduced prison sentences, due to their lack of self-control at the time of their crimes.  The 'Involuntary Intoxication' defense has also been used multiple times for other S.S.R.I.'s, including Wellbutrin and Zoloft.

An organization was founded for the victims of antidepressant-induced violence that includes the parents of children who were lost, due to suicide, or to sudden homicidal behaviors (that lead to imprisonment).  The Save Project is dedicated to spreading the word about the dangers of S.S.R.I. antidepressants, and it seeks mercy for those who have been unjustly imprisoned for pharmaceutically-induced violent crimes that lacked motives or intent.

Writing for the B.B.C., Dr. Joanna Moncrieff explained that antidepressants do not cure depression or make people happy, they merely place people into drug-induced emotional comas, until emotions are repressed to the point of forcefully reappearing: often explosively.  According to her, the theory of a chemical imbalance in the depressed has not been proven, and what's more; it's wrong.

"Psychoactive drugs make people feel different; they put people into an altered mental and physical state.  They affect everyone, regardless of whether they have a mental disorder or not...  If we gave people a clearer picture, drug treatment might not always be so appealing.  If you told people that we have no idea what is going on in their brain, but that they could take a drug that would make them feel different and might help to suppress their thoughts and feelings, then many people might choose to avoid taking drugs if they could."

Prologue

Altering the mental state to eliminate emotion produces drug-induced sociopaths.  Our conscience, after all, is an emotion.  The ability to empathize with the suffering of others requires emotions.  Mercy itself requires these things.  All of this sounds like the plot for a horror movie, but it's much more disturbing than this, and it really is happening in our society every day.  The body count is rising.  The pharmaceutical companies pay lawyers (and probably some judges too) millions of dollars to halt these defenses, and to keep these cases hushed from the public.  Avoid these drugs whenever possible, and remember that antidepressants are so greatly prescribed that they can even be found in our tap water.
