The Truth About Asthma Being Curable or How To Fix Those 'Bad Genes'
| Written by Sarah Cain Tuesday, 26 January 2010 21:15 |
Asthma was something that I battled with for most of my life. I can still recall using my first inhaler at around three years old, when I began experiencing asthma attacks. Asthma has become normal in England, where I was raised. I am far from alone, and 22 million Americans are suffering from asthma symptoms. It is a condition that is characterized by shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness, pain in the chest, and coughing (especially at night).
The Grotesque Parody Of The Medical Establishment
As with all the other supposedly "chronic" diseases now, the mainstream medical establishment has recently redefined asthma as a genetic condition. For new readers, "genetic" is the medical establishment's code for "we have no idea, or we cannot admit the truth, so we'll blame God". Despite the newly discovered "genetic" cause for asthma, the rates of its occurrence increase disproportionately to population growth each year. While the establishment offers no cures for asthma, there are many ways to perpetually treat it. Long time readers will already see the clear medical pattern, which is completely about fostering business.
For decades, doctors have been prescribing steroid-based asthma inhalers for their usual practice of symptom treatment. These steroid-based inhalers are intended to prevent future asthma attacks; for this is their idea of preventative medicine, regardless of whatever the true causes are. Steroid side-effects are typically dismissed off-hand, but they frequently include; headaches, joint pain, mental disturbances, nosebleeds, weight gain, frequent infections, growth retardation, and adrenal insufficiency. Adrenal insufficiency, by the way, is the primary catalyst of pre-diabetes, which explains why asthma patients have higher incidences of diabetes. As usual, the treatments eventually prove to be highly profitable in the long-term from the diseases that the treatments themselves cause. In fact, we challenge our readers to find any orthodox medical treatment that does not produce this profitable disease-inflicting pattern in the long term.
"When steroid drugs are taken by mouth, they substitute for and decrease the body's normal ability to make its own steroids as well as its ability to respond to stress."

Cortisteroids can accumulate in the body's tissues, resulting in increasing health damage over time. It is convenient that the medications for one disease lead to another disease, thereby creating a perpetual high-paying customer. In addition to steroid-based inhalers, some asthma sufferers are also prescribed anti-inflammatory pills to reduce asthma attacks. It is particularly sad in the case of children, because this massive amount of pharmaceuticals provided each day, for years at a time, will have long-term health consequences, which will make them forever dependent upon the system. It is a sad story that is repeated again, and again.
One of the latest treatments for asthma is the oral contraceptive pill. It seems that the medical establishment never stops finding new uses for this group of hormone-destroying pharmaceuticals, which are some of the most damaging drugs in existence. The contraceptive pill is one of the reasons for the high rates of thyroid diseases, diabetes, mental illnesses, female hair loss, and strokes; because they destroy the natural balance of the bodies' hormones ― sometimes permanently.
The Causes of Asthma
There are many causes of asthma, some of which will be noticed by sufferers as 'triggers'. Environmental pollution is a major cause for those who live in urban area's. As a child growing up in 1990's England, pollution from factories, along with diesel exhaust fumes were almost certainly the main causative factors in my development of childhood asthma. However, there are new causes which were not an issue when I was growing up.
Air fresheners have been shown to trigger asthma attacks by dramatically reducing lung capacity, which is already impaired in the case of asthmatics. All scented products, including candles, deodorizers, and especially 'fresheners' should be avoided, if you, or your loved ones suffer with this condition. It is generally advisable to avoid these products, even in healthy individuals. Please reference our previous articles, How Air Fresheners Are Killing You, and How Some Gyms Are Very Dangerous To Health and How They Might Even Eventually Kill You.
Allergies have a tendency to stimulate asthma problems. Allergic reactions place increased stress on the body, and an asthma attack is a terrifying hyper-immune response. Certain plants may cause these reactions, such as ragweed, along with allergies that are artifically created by vaccinations (ie. eggs, M.S.G., peanuts, latex).
Eliminating Asthma
An extraordinary percentage of asthma suffers do not seem to know how to breathe. They breathe only through the mouth, instead of the nose. Breathing solely through the mouth actually causes constriction of the blood vessels, and increases the chances of lung infections, due to the lack of nasal filtering. The type of breathing exercises which are practiced in Karate are ideal for asthma sufferers to gradually increase their lung capacity. To do this, one must focus on breathing in through the nose, and out through the mouth slowly. The maximum breath should be taken in during inhalation, and then after a brief pause, some effort should be made to force slightly more air in. This air should be held for about 2 seconds before slowly exhaling as much air as possible, and then the process is repeated. This overall technique of breathing deeper, yet slowly should be employed whenever there is physical exertion.
Honey is a popular home remedy for asthma. Placing a jug of honey under the nose during an asthma attack can make breathing much easier. Eating 1-2 tablespoons of honey each day is also beneficial. For more information about the power of honey, see our article, God's Nutrition: From The Big Guy Himself, in Issue 2 of Naturally Good Magazine.
Vitamin B-12 has been shown in studies to dramatically reduce asthma attacks. The recommended dose is 500 µg. (500 mcg.) for children younger than twelve, and 1-2 µg. (1000-2000 mcg.) for older children and adults. Only use vitamin B-12 in the form of methylcobalamin.
Indian tobacco (Lobelia) is known for its therapeutic effects on asthma and other respiratory problems, particularly when it is smoked. We recommend that it be reserved for the most severe cases. Take notice that it is not a true tobacco, despite its name, and it contains no nicotine.
Vitamin B-6 deficiency has been observed in many asthma sufferers, and this is caused by the asthma medications, which are known to deplete the body of vitamin B-6. Studies on children with severe asthma showed marked improvement with B-6 supplementation. This depletion of B-6 by the medications is yet another way that Big Medica ensures future business.
Avoid tap water, and start drinking spring water instead. Add a shower filter which effectively eliminates chlorine, as the chlorine steam that appears during a hot shower will aggravate the lungs. Be wary of water filters that are sold at major retail stores, which advertise, "removes chlorine taste", and invest in one that removes all chlorine.
Avoid aspartame, the dangerous artificial sweetener. It is known to stimulate asthma attacks and cause difficulty breathing. Remember that it is in your chewing gum, too.
A high-quality air filter that properly eliminates dust will be very helpful in combating asthma, which is often triggered by dust allergies. The E.P.A. reported 10 years ago that indoor air pollutants have a greater impact on health than outdoor pollutants, so it is vital that indoor air be effectively filtered by an anti-allergen air filter, and that the filter gets changed monthly.
Due to the connection between asthma and allergies, some sufferers may wish to try chamomile. Chamomile is an effective anti-histamine that can be purchased in capsule form. It can cause drowsiness, and is a relative of ragweed. Do not use chamomile if you have a ragweed allergy.
The most important thing that an asthma sufferer can do is change his diet. Eliminate processed foods, and simple carbohydrates. Stop eating all of the new 'white' foods, including white bread, white flour, white sugar, and white rice. Homemade bread is best, because whole wheat breads now being sold in grocery stores are so chemically bastardized that most of them are even worse than the white breads, and that's really saying something. Start cooking balanced meals, which include some organic proteins, alongside plenty of vegetables and fruits. Increase the overall number of fruits and vegetables (preferably organic) that are present in the diet, and the improvements will be undeniable.
