We are going to post this on-line, with your identity information removed.  I believe that some of our readers may have similar questions, and find this interesting to read.

I forgot to mention, but what is being presented in those videos is known as either Laetrile (medical name), Amygdalin (name when found in nature), and Vitamin B17, although it is not "officially" a vitamin.  The "World Without Cancer" video mentions a few people that have claimed to have used it successfully.

It contains two units of sugar, one unit of benzaldehyde, and one unit of cyanide.  Normal cells in the body possess an enzyme called Rhodanese, which detoxifies the cyanide, and converts it to thiocyanate.  It may also convert the benzaldehyde to benzoic acid, but I cannot find a clear answer on this.  I have contacted the creator of those videos, and he states that he is not aware of any toxic effects on benign tissue.

When poisons are found in natural foods, they either always come with their own antidotes (ie. M.S.G.), or they are in organic forms that are in trace amounts, which a body can process.

Benzine, cyanide, and sugar -- for cancer no less? I am practically speechless. This has the makings of a first class pharmaceutical. I am sure there would be no problems in getting it approved.

I would not count on your body detoxifying cyanide, and even in trace amounts, it will increase your toxic load.

The reason natural B17 is not an 'official' vitamin, is because it is too effective.  It has the potential to shut the cancer industry down overnight.  In yesteryear, armed raids actually took place against health food stores which sold B17.  These raids were, of course, intended for maximum intimidation, and it worked.  Good luck in finding vitamin B17 in the United States.

The real reason why almonds must now be 'pasteurized' is to neutralize all of their vitamin B17, because this is where alternative practitioners were getting it before.

Sorry, but I have a few more questions.  Is it possible to have a pH balance which is too high in alkalinity?  I simply ask because of some vegetarians that get cancer, and I would assume that they are likely to be in the alkaline level.

Keep in mind, I do believe that the foods that you eat play a large part in whether or not you get cancer.

That is a good question.  While I am not aware of any specific cases of this happening, it is true that practically anything when taken in excess is harmful.

However, it takes very little to shift the body toward being acidic, and in fact, stress alone is enough to do it.  It is much more difficult to keep a body alkaline, and being a vegetarian is no guarantee.  There are actually some fruits and vegetables which make a body more acidic.  This is another reason why balance is so important.  Charts with this information can be found on-line.

We know that being a vegetarian decreases one's risk of cancer, and we know some of the reasons why.  Unfortunately, there are never any guarantees, and there are always exceptions to every rule.  Thus, I suppose the most important rule is to never say never.

Also, could I use a Berkey water filter to filter water from a dehumidifier?  I would like to get an Ecoloblue, but do not currently have that kind of money.  If I can use it, it would give me distilled water, correct?  Also, I read your article about baking soda in the water.  Would you consider Arm and Hammer pure baking soda as being okay to use?

All of that seems okay to me.  We have actually changed our stance slightly.  We generally use (and recommend) spring water now.  We believe it is the best water because its minerals help compensate for our minerally depleted foods, and the minerals act as natural pH buffers, which usually keeps the water slightly alkaline.

Also, would a glass container be a safe container to store this water in?  Once again, thanks in advance for your help!

Glass is probably the best material to store liquids in.  It reacts with, and alters almost nothing.  Although, care must be taken for liquids which react with light.  This should not be an issue for drinking water, of course.

Now, could a half teaspoon of baking soda be added to purified and/or distilled water bought from a store?  If so, would that be enough to make the water alkaline?  Would you recommend to use either purified or distilled water, or does it not make much of a difference?  Also, are the sea salts necessary as well, and if so, is there any type that you would recommend?

Only the most expensive and high-end purification systems will remove fluoride, so remember that purifiers tend to leave fluoride behind, and certain other tiny molecule toxins.  If you use purified water, then be certain to frequently apply non-povidone iodine to yourself dermally to neutralize the fluoride, and give your thyroid a boost.

Half a teaspoon of baking soda is actually overkill.  An eighth per gallon should be ample.  There are machines which electrically produce alkaline water, but our aim was to write do-it-yourself techniques that anyone could afford.

Sea salt is not required for anything, but if you are going to use any amount of salt, then use that kind.  It is generally beneficial in very small amounts, and more so for someone who sweats profusely from physical activities.  For someone with blood pressure issues, it would be wise to monitor the effects, and the effects could be rather surprising.

Also, if I use this amount of baking soda, is there any major worry about high blood pressure from it?  If so, what could be used to combat it?  If it is something like eating a certain type of food, can it be bought at a grocery store?

A trace amount is all that is needed, and none should be needed for spring water.  Blood pressure is a complex beast, with dozens of variables.  We have been considering writing about it, but we are afraid that the article would turn into a book.  Adding cayenne to the diet, or taking it in supplement form should more than offset the minor elevations in blood pressure.  With the right lifestyle, high blood pressure should not even happen.

Could this water be used during and after exercising (water intoxication)?  I'm asking this because I used to use Gatorade, but stopped when I learned about some of its ingredients.

We were disappointed by the route Gatorade took too.  The original formula is a favorite of ours, whenever we are being naughty.  In times of crisis, it will replenish a body faster than anything else.  Nevertheless, it should not be a staple of the diet, for obvious reasons.

How can I get an idea as to whether or not I am buying organic food, or if it is GMO?  I'm assuming that I might not be able to get it form a grocery store.

They are making it more difficult to know.  We wrote about how to determine if produce is G.M.O..

Finally, what are some good sources of magnesium?  Thanks in advance for helping with these questions!

Getting magnesium means getting back to the basics of green leafy vegetables and broccoli.  In a crises, such as M.S.G. poisoning, a teaspoon of maple syrup will quickly provide a high dose of all-natural magnesium in the organic form.
